Liebster Award

Dear blogging friends,
I apologize for my recent absence as a blogger. I could make a list of excuses for not blogging but I won't because you know them all and could write a list of your own:)!
                                      Love,
                                      Exhausted Teacher

All jokes aside, I was nominated by two lovely ladies (The Babbling Box and This Little Piggy) for the Liebster Blog Award which gave me a perfect opportunity to blog this evening.  A Liebster Blog Award is given by bloggers to new bloggers that have less than 200 followers.  It is to show new bloggers that they are appreciated and to help spread the word about new blogs. I am honored to be recognized and love knowing that my blog is helping other teachers :)!

Here are the rules:
- You must post 11 random things about yourself.
- Answer the questions that the nominator set for you.- Create 11 questions for the people you nominate.- Choose 11 blogs you love (with less than 200 followers) and link them in your post.- No tag back (but please leave me a comment on this post with the URL to your Liebster post so I can learn more about you)!

  1. Thanks, Nikki! I am so interested in your new teaching position this year! Are you loving it?? I am trying to do both jobs... I teach 2nd grade and I am the Technology Teacher Leader. It is so much work and there are many MANY days when I wish I could just teach technology... and have time to really play with everything and figure out a good system for integrating it better. Right now I am basically using my smart board (as a smart board :).. and we have mini laptops that I log students on to now and then. I am thinking about starting a "Bring Your Device To School" day on Fridays... students could bring their iPods, iPads, tablets... and play educational games together during their lunch/recess. This would hopefully encourage more fun, educational, playing at home.. and sharing and discussing and learning at school. Any tips??

    1. You're welcome Sarah! I am loving my job but there are definitely days ands things that I miss about being a 1st grade teacher.

I spent a few years being on the technology committee and helping with trainings. I became a "go to" person for technology and last year I helped mentor a brand new teacher in the ITRT position.

This is our first year with BYOD initiated by our county. We have a county BYOD policy as well as a school policy. Not sure how strict your county and school would be but I know that it can be controversial.

I would love to chat more and would be happy to answer any more specific questions :)! My email is mrsjones72812@gmail.com.

Happy blogging and thanks for commenting!!!

    1. Thanks Amy :)! It is so true, teachers definitely don't do it for the money so it is important that you LOVE what you are doing and I am so lucky to have found two passions to put together. So glad I found your blog, my OCDness could star me as a guest blogger on "Little Miss Organized" LOL!

  4. Nikki--omg, you are the only other person I've heard of who can't stay awake at the movies. It's so sad, even when it's a good movie I can rarely do it. I am also OCD, with a prince of a husband who tolerates my quirks. Thanks for your nomination, and glad I found your blog!

  7. Just received a check for over $500.

Sometimes people don't believe me when I tell them about how much you can earn filling out paid surveys from home...

So I took a video of myself getting paid over $500 for participating in paid surveys to set the record straight once and for all.
